since 1980. Today it is one of the largest direct sales companies, with 1.7
million distributors in 65 different countries. Herbalife offers shake mixes,
protein bars, and herbal supplements for weight loss. They also sell fitness
drink mixes and a line of vitamins, minerals, and herbal products to improve
overall nutrition. The official Herbalife website has a complete catalog with
product information and pricing, but orders must be placed through a
Distributor.
New Distributors can make the minimum investment of $49.95 and begin earning 25%
commission on their sales. The IBP, or International Business Pack, contains
information about the business and marketing plan, but does not include
products. Distributors can work their way up through the ranks of Senior
Consultant, Success Builder, and Supervisor by meeting sales and recruitment
goals. The other option is to purchase set amounts of inventory up front and be
promoted automatically to a higher rank. The Senior Consultant kit is estimated
at $600, and the Success Builder kit is approximately $885. The Supervisor kit
will cost about $3900, but it comes with automatic 50% profits on sales.
