Jafra, headquartered in Westlake Village, CA, is one of the oldest direct sales companies around. Founded in 1956, it offers skin care products, fragrances, hair care products, baby care items, and home spa products. There are several different kits available, including those priced at $50, $100, and $300, all including a carrying case, sample products, training booklets, catalogs, and information leaflets. There is also a smaller starter kit called the Express Case, with fewer samples and a smaller carrying case. It is available for $15 and includes training booklets.

Though the company is headquartered in California, it was sold in 2004 to Vorwerk, a German direct sales company. Jafra remains based in the U.S. under German ownership. The company has sales reps throughout much of the world, gaining market strength during more than 50 years of growth.

The commission structure is based on sales minimums. For months in which there has been at least $300 in sales, the commission is 50%. For months in which this minimum has not been met, the commission is 30%. There are also periodic incentives for high-selling sales reps, including trips. From sales made by a rep's downline, there is a 10% commission earned on the wholesale orders placed by any member of the downline.
