at Home items are sold only through home
parties and demonstrations, though orders
places by the company’s salespeople can be
placed online. The start-up kit is $99,
which includes two training DVDs, a training
manual, and several sample products, as well
as display cards and booklets, order forms,
catalogs, and invitations to send to
customers. There is also an optional $99
add-on kit that contains more sample candles
and holders. The commission structure starts
with a 30% base commission, and there are a
few performance-based commissions that can
bring that up to 35%. There are also
downline incentives based on recruiting new
salespeople to host their own profitable
parties.
There is a minimum of $100 in orders placed
every three months to remain an active
salesperson. Active hosts are also eligible
for discounted items for personal use, with
discounts running as deep as 50%. Sales
party hostesses can also earn free items
when they host successful and profitable
parties. There are also several specials
just for the customers, such as special
prices for customers who attend the sales
parties regularly.
