Candace’s first exercise is to take the work at home questionnaire to help her determine what business she wants to start online. We also suggested to her to check out the home business/Internet business ideas page for inspiration.

 

Exercise 1:

Answer the work at home questionnaire and identify passions, dislikes, and whether or not working online is a good choice.

  • High content based sites i.e, Blogging, Adsense Site, Affiliate Marketing

  • Writing
  • Creating her own products
  • Shipping out her own products

Likes:

Likes the idea of earning income online and not having to ship her own products out herself.

 

Exercise 2:

Research top niches you are interested in and also discover what type of business model you prefer. e.g., Direct Sales, information products, dropshipping, etc.

 

You can also research which niche is more profitable and in demand by searching through Google, Amazon, Google Trends and Yahoo. You can even check out Spyfu at Spyfu.com to easily see how many competitors (would be competitors), are bidding for keywords in the niche you are interested in. If there are no people bidding for keywords or placing ads in that particular niche, it may be a clear sign that no one is interested in that niche. i.e., nobody is really searching for those products, so there is little to no demand.

Choose a legal business structure.

Locate a shopping cart provider. Also, decide if you or someone will design your online storefront.
