Nutritionist Service Business

Starting a Nutritionist Service Business

People don’t always eat healthy, and the current obesity epidemic hitting the United States right now is proof of that. This is not to say that people do not want to eat healthy, but it is simply that they do not know how to eat healthy. As a nutritionist, it will be your job to work with your clients and help them learn how to eat healthy by eating nutritious meals, instead of the usual junk food that they may love to eat. This is a very important, and fast growing business sector currently, as more and more people try and live healthy lifestyles.

For you, it is a career that is helping people and giving them the ability to change the way they live and live longer, healthier lives. It is not often where you get to save people with your business, but this is one of those.

The Concept

Being a nutritionist is not just about helping people eat better, it is about being a psychologist and understanding why someone may want to eat something they shouldn’t, instead of something that they should. This career is a highly rewarding one, because people are going to come to you when they want to change their lives. They want to be thinner, healthier and fitter, and they want you to help them get to that point. You can then have a huge impact on their lives by showing them the best ways to live their lives, nutritionally speaking.

Startup Costs

Startup costs to this are small when you think that you will be going to other people’s homes, that it can be run out of your office, and beyond some nutritional information booklets, you won’t need to buy any equipment.

Where costs for this do come in is the schooling. To become a nutritionist, you need to have some certifications so that people know that you are a professional, and that you are legitimate.

This schooling can range from a $20,000 to $40,000 college degree in nutrition, to taking some courses, even online, to get a certification for $1,000 to $5,000.
If you want people to contact you, then make sure you have enough credentials behind you that they will be able to trust you easier.

Marketing your Internet BusinessHow to Market It

Marketing this can be done in a variety of methods. You can advertise in the paper, where you should be able to get quite a few clients. You can also advertise with flyers, posters and brochures up at supermarkets, drug stores and doctor offices. Make sure that they have no problem with your posters before you do this. Word of mouth will also help your business as your satisfied, and healthy clients tell others of how they became so fit.
